Flatline Files publishes medical mystery horror stories for fiction and entertainment.
The Stories Are Fiction
Unless a page clearly states otherwise, the stories, characters, patients, medical facilities, organizations, events, dialogue, charts, test results, and clinical scenarios appearing on Flatline Files are fictional.
Any resemblance to an actual person, patient, medical record, facility, event, or organization is coincidental.
Stories may be inspired by broad healthcare environments, medical concepts, folklore, common clinical themes, or the author’s professional familiarity with healthcare. They are not accounts of identifiable patients, and they should not be interpreted as case reports or disclosures of confidential patient information.
Not Medical Advice
Nothing on Flatline Files constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, nursing advice, mental-health counseling, or a professional patient-provider relationship.
Medical details are used as elements of storytelling. They may be simplified, altered, dramatized, combined, or invented for suspense and entertainment. Characters may make unsafe, incomplete, unethical, unrealistic, or incorrect decisions as part of a fictional narrative.
Do not use a Flatline Files story to diagnose or treat yourself or another person. Always seek individualized guidance from an appropriately licensed healthcare professional.
Medical Emergencies
Flatline Files does not monitor messages for emergencies and cannot provide urgent medical assistance.
If you believe you or another person may be experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number, or seek immediate evaluation at an appropriate emergency facility.
In the United States, individuals experiencing a suicidal or mental-health crisis may call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
No Professional Relationship
Viewing the website, subscribing to a newsletter, leaving feedback, or contacting the publisher does not establish a clinician-patient, nurse-patient, therapist-client, consultant-client, or other professional relationship.
Please do not send symptoms, medical records, photographs, protected health information, or requests for personal medical recommendations.
Author Credentials and Creative Context
Flatline Files is inspired by the healthcare experience and creative interests of Mark Aquino, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, a board-certified family nurse practitioner and registered nurse.
His professional background includes urgent care, locked inpatient psychiatric and mental-health settings, home health, and hospice care. These experiences inform the atmosphere, vocabulary, and diagnostic suspense of the stories.
Professional credentials do not transform fictional stories into medical guidance. References to credentials are provided for author background and transparency only.
No Guarantee of Medical Accuracy
Reasonable efforts may be made to ground portions of the fiction in recognizable medical concepts. However, no guarantee is made that every symptom, procedure, medication, diagnosis, timeline, setting, or professional interaction is complete, current, realistic, or medically accurate.
Creative liberties may be taken intentionally.
